Sensa Granite Countertops
Sensa is natural granite selected and treated by Cosentino. Every slab is quarried stone, so the grain, movement and colour shift from piece to piece and no two countertops are identical. Before it leaves the factory each slab is given a stain-resistant treatment, which makes granite easier to live with in a kitchen while keeping the depth of a natural material. Cosentino treats the stone; Videa Stone supplies, fabricates and installs the finished countertop.
Every Sensa countertop here is templated on site, cut and finished in our own workshop in Latvia, then delivered across Northern Europe and fitted and jointed on arrival. What is Sensa?
Sensa is natural granite from Cosentino that has been given a factory-applied stain-resistant treatment. The treatment is what separates it from untreated granite in everyday kitchen use, particularly around oil and wine spills.
Does a Sensa countertop need sealing?
Sensa is natural granite, so treat it as a porous stone, meaning it absorbs liquids, and one that benefits from sealing. What is different is that Cosentino applies a stain-resistant treatment at the factory, which gives the surface a head start against oil and wine. Wipe spills promptly, clean with warm water and a mild detergent, and follow Cosentino's care guidance on when to reseal.
How is Sensa different from engineered quartz?
Sensa is quarried natural granite, while engineered quartz, which is manufactured from crushed aggregate and resin, covers surfaces such as Silestone by Cosentino and TechniStone. That means Sensa has genuine geological variation and no repeating pattern, and it tolerates heat better than a resin-based slab. In return it is a porous natural stone rather than an engineered composite, so it asks for a little more care.
Will my Sensa countertop match the sample I saw?
It will be the same stone, but not an identical picture. Granite is quarried in blocks and each slab cuts a different section through the rock, so veining and tone vary. We work from the actual slab reserved for your kitchen and plan the cuts around it, so the movement falls where you want it on the run and the island.
